Bobby Powers October 31, 1958 - May 11, 2025

Bobby Powers, 66, of Alexandria, Kentucky, clocked out of this world on May 11, 2025, surrounded by love, stubbornness, and the unshakable bond of his family. Born on Halloween, October 31, 1958, in Jellico, Tennessee, to Robert and Claudia Powers (Lawson), Bobby was a trick-or-treat baby in every sense—equal parts sweet, mischief, and totally unforgettable. Every year, the family celebrated his birthday with costumes, candy, and a whole lot of laughs. He wouldn’t have had it any other way.

He was a fighter, a protector, and a man who believed that if your body was finished but your soul had more to give, you should pass it on. That’s exactly what he did—true to his word until the very end, giving back through organ and tissue donation so that others could live.

Bobby spent over five decades loving one woman with his whole heart: the love of his life, Tanie Powers (Hall), of Newport, KY. Together for 51 years, married for 47, Tanie and Bobby were rarely seen apart. High school sweethearts turned lifelong partners, they built a life rich in love, grit, and shared laughs—the kind that echo through a house and settle into the walls.

He is survived by his daughter, Brook Jeffries (Powers), and her husband Jeremy, and was a fiercely proud “Pop” to Jerren “Bug” Jeffries and Juliana “Sissy” Jeffries. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Shelly Powers (Hendren) of Bradenton, Florida, and his beloved grandchildren, Preston and Presley Powers.

Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Powers—a loss that shook him to his core. We take comfort knowing they’re reunited now, likely causing a little harmless trouble and sharing a laugh or two in Heaven.

Bobby made people laugh without trying. He had a dry wit, a quick comeback, and a soft heart buried under all that rough-edged loyalty. He believed in hard work, showing up, and leaving things better than you found them—whether it was a person, a house, or a broken-down mower.
