Barb Singleton, 71, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at her home in Southgate, KY, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Barb was born on May 30, 1954, in Covington, KY, to the late George and Aretta Huesman.
Barb attended Notre Dame High School for Girls in Covington, KY, and graduated in 1972. She went on to achieve her Kentucky Cosmetology License, completing a rigorous 1,800-hour program and passing both a written and practical examination administered by the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology (KBC). Her dedication and talent earned her First Place (Regional) and Second Place (National) awards in hair competitions.
Barb had a passion for cosmetology and worked at multiple hair salons, including Serenity Hair Design, for over 30 years, where she brought joy and beauty to her clients. She married Tim Wigger of Covington, KY, in December 2005, and together they shared a life filled with love and cherished memories, including their beloved dog, Sophie.
In her spare time, Barb enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, and traveling with friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her loving brother, David Huesman, and her sister, Janice Brady.
Barb is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Wigger; her daughter, Kelly (Chuck) Gibson of Ludlow, KY; and her son, Michael (Matpiya) Singleton (Retired Army) of Hawai’i. She also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Bailey Gibson and Carson Singleton.
A “Celebration of Life” gathering will be held at a later date (TBD). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Brighton Center, INC., located at 741 Central Ave, Newport, KY 41071.
Barb will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
