Jahnett M. Dickman April 7, 1938 - July 16, 2025

Jahnett Marie Dickman (Lindrud) passed away at her home on July 16, 2025, with her children by her side.  She was 87.

Jahnett was born in Canada at Vancouver, British Columbia on April 7, 1938.  She was raised in Lethbridge, Alberta, where her parents had a beauty salon.  Jahnett went on frequent camping and fishing trips with her parents and friends into the Canadian Rockies when they were still mostly wilderness.  She spoke fondly of time spent with her cousins, Catherine (Catanzaro) and Joan (Wahman), in Indiana.

Jahnett met Robert Dickman while a student at the old Villa Madonna College in Covington, which she chose due to small class sizes.  They married in January 1958 and had six children.  They moved into a new house in Ft. Mitchell in July 1962 where Mom lived until she passed away.  Mom was very active in Jaycees (1964 Female President) and the old Covington Art Club in the 1960s.

Jahnett was active in arts and dancing.  She performed in many plays at local theaters in Covington and Ft. Thomas during the late 1960s and early 1970s.  She was an accomplished singer and piano player.

After a divorce in 1972, she returned to school for an eventual master’s degree in Speech Pathology while raising four unruly children.  She spent more than 30 years in the Erlanger/Elsmere School System as a Speech Therapist.

For more than 20 years, Mom was a member of the High-Stepping Grandmas, a tap-dancing troupe of grandmothers.  She was also a ballroom and swing dancer.

Jahnett is survived by her four children, Michael (Sharon Nolan), Brian, Jennifer Lyon, Ross (Christine Calvetti) and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Preceding her are a daughter, Marietta, and a son, Lawrence and her son-in-law, Ted Lyon.  Donations to the Fairhaven Rescue Mission at 260 W.
