Born February 12, 1938. Died May 10, 2020 at home.

Survived by loving wife Joy (Brun) of 60 years, daughter Cindy (Greg) Cole and son Wayne (Jeanie), grandchildren Roderic (Katrina) Hodges and Nicole (Sami) Bichir and great grandchildren Tristan, Penelope and Aurelia Bichir and sister-in-law Donna (William) Hodges. Preceded in death by parents William B. and Edna (Schweigert) and brother William F. Hodges. Jerry enjoyed fishing, helping friends and family, listening to music, traveling, and spending winters in Benson, Arizona. He and Joy hosted many summer parties at their home with family and friends swimming and playing card games. He ended his long career in the communications industry retiring from IPC as Vice President of Operations in 1998. Jerry was past Exalted Ruler of both the Cincinnati BPOE Lodge 5 and Newport Elks BPOE Lodge 273.  He was active with Rotary International, as past president of the Newport and Florence Clubs and as District Governor.  He spent countless hours serving others including group study, youth group exchange, community projects and fundraising events to help with the eradication of polio.  Jerry was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow and twice named a Kentucky Colonel. Mass of remembrance will be celebrated Saturday May 16th, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria.  Due to social distancing it will be for immediate family only, live stream is available on St. Mary’s Alexandria Facebook page.
