Richard A. Baker, age 80, passed away in Newport, Kentucky, on Friday, July 3, 2026.
He was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on July 18, 1945, to the late Walter Vernon and Elizabeth Victoria (nee Roach) Baker.
Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving proudly, both domestically and abroad, from 1964 until 1968, when he was honorably discharged.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Whitney, and his parents.
Richard is survived by his daughters; Jennifer L. (Robert) Born and Kristen E. (Garrett) Shrock; grandsons Walker Kole Shrock, Casen A. Shrock, and Oliver N. Born; granddaughter Alley Reese Born; great grandson Walker Bennett Shrock; nephew Todd Whitney; and niece Nicole Ponting.
At Richard’s final request, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to:
